Wallpaper

Finally, after weeks of waiting the wallpaper is installed, just in time for the coming new year. I still have no idea in terms of where to arrange my other furniture. Tell me what you think.

China Man

How do you differentiate a Malaysian Chinese and a Chinese from China? Apparently even the local Indian can tell the difference nowadays- that is after one open their mouth. If you can hear someone talking miles away (so far that even your adjacent neighborhood’s dog can hear), then you’ll know the answer.

Anticipation

Year end is approaching and I bet all of us anticipate an improving year 2010. Anticipation is often better than actual realizing it. Isn’t anticipating coming year better than actual living in it? How about anticipation finishing work versus actual finishing of work? In another word, do you enjoy more at 4.55pm or 8pm? I wonder myself.

Talking about year end, it’s one again the time to review my 2009 resolution and planning for the following year. I verify that I have achieved 6 of 11 resolutions for the year 2009. I have another 11 resolutions for year 2010 and hopefully I can achieve more this year. It’s definitely achievable, and it’s all about self discipline, which I seriously lack off.

Sparkling Wines

I opened a personal record of 34 bottles of sparkling wine last night. The first bottle took me about 30 seconds, and the last one took me about 5 seconds. How long does it take for you to open a bottle sparkling wine?

Talking about sparkling wines, we have the following sparkling wine in stock- Reymos - Espumoso de Moscatel (Spanish Sparkling Wine) and Castellblanch Cristal Brut (Cava) for RM 50 and RM 80 respectively (special friendship price). One must prove to be a friend to be entitled at that price.

Movie

I wonder if you have watched the movie “Avatar” by the time you read this blog. If you haven’t then all I have to say to you is, “Wa ha ha ha.. What have u been doing my friend. You miss out all the good stuff”. It’s probably one of the most brilliant movies in recent years and I am duly impressed. Talking about movies, I have watched 29 movies this year to date as opposed to an average of 45 in the past 4 years. How many have you watched?

Offices

Further to blog dated 3rd of Dec 09, I have managed to reduce my documents & wine storage from 4 to 2. This took me tones of effort. Would like to take this opportunity to show my gratitude to Ken for helping me move the office (although he is kind of being force to help since he kind of show up at the wrong place at the wrong time, … twice).

Small World

I bang into one of my primary class mate who has been working opposite my new shop for over three years. Apparently they are a wallpaper company, who has the exact wallpaper that I have been searching for months. Who would have expected that the thing I am looking for is just in front of my nose.

Cholesterol & Wine

The blood test results are out. Most results appear to be in control with the exception of rather high cholesterol. It looks like I should consume a lot more red wines. Oh gosh, I just realize I was surrounded by some 400 bottles of wines. Who wish to join me? (Make sure your wallet is loaded with cash though haha).

Talking about wines, it is getting rather annoying with my documents & wines stored in 4 difference places (2 home and 2 offices). I should spent the next two weeks to reduce to just one. After all, a home should just be a house without any after working hour’s documents.

The Wine Shop is opening soon despite not yet awarded a name. Soon it will be restored to the following condition, or perhaps even better. To find out more, please tune in to johnnykoo.blogspot.com :)

Blood Test

I just had my blood test done yesterday. It’s the first test I have in 2 years and let’s hope everything is fine. Drawing blood is not as pain as I once experience some 18 years ago, which I pass out if my memory serve me well. Talking about pain, there’s total of 12 levels of pain, in which level 1 is mosquitoes bite and level 12 is woman giving birth. Guess what’s level 13?

Wine Gala

We attended the "Wine Gala" at Lake Club over the weekend. There are no shortage of wines for tasting, with 8 wine merchant (myself not included) and each merchant has about 5-7 wines for tasting. Unfortunately most of the wines are pretty ordinary with the exception of following Portugal wine. We don't carry this but we still think its worthwhile trying at RM 150 a bottle- Terra do Zambujeiro 2003

Badminton

Following playing ping pong for the first time in three years, last night I played badminton for the first time in six months. Talking about body sore, I have it all over my body the following morning. Played poorly once again, but of course it’s due to the poor lighting, the loosening strings on the racket and the hardness of the floor.

Ping Pong

Just played my first table tennis game in about three years. My opponent, well, is the same guy I used to bully back in eleven years ago. We both play poorly, although one can blame on the shoes whilst the other can blame on the bat (or the floor, which is really hard too). Nonetheless, it does bring back some great memories and we look forward to play more regularly in coming future.

Who is bullying who now?

Names

Cheese

I have been trying hard to think of a name for a wine & cheese shop. Anyone with any idea, please feel free to share. It doesn’t matter if it is brilliant or silly. The last I heard is someone suggested to put a cheese and a mouse on the signboard. Cute idea (Cute: ugly but adorable).

Bkt Melawati

We have just successfully climbed Mount Melawati yesterday. This is the first training exercise for next year’s great vision of climbing KK. It took us some 4-5 hours, however, I felt more difficult than my last visit three years ago. It could be aging, or the slightly more difficult route that we took (probably a better excuse for me). Nonetheless, I’ll plan for hill climbing exercise monthly basis and hopefully I’ll be as strong as an ox come mid next year. Next stop: Mount Dato perhaps?

Look at this poor plant at the entrance of my office. It really needs sunlight. The owner obviously doesn’t put much attention on him although he has clearly indicated his intention. Poor thing.

Wish List

I wake up today realizing it’s not far from my birthday. Here’s this year birthday presents wish-list. I am pretty surprise that I couldn’t come up with anything after 15 minutes, unlike the year before which I can go on and on. It’s not like I have everything. Maybe I’m just more satisfied now. Anyway, here are the lists. Remember, a person is no difference to Salty Fish without any wishes/dreams.

- Braun Buffer Sunglasses
- A tower fan for the bed room
- New Car CD Player
- IPhone
- CRU wine from Bordeaux (Pomerol or St. Emilion perhaps)
- Note: My long term wish list - GPS is no longer in the list as I have got it recently.

Will continue to update this list in the next two weeks. If you happen to read this, then start moving your body! Its time for some shopping. Oh yes, I am starting to feel the pleasure of receiving these presents (“the Secret”).

I wonder if the bunnies get anything from their wish list?

Lotto

I’m back from Australia, however, still appear to be in holiday mood and therefore hasn’t updated the blog. Earlier this morning I thought I lost a lotto ticket to grand prize of A$5mil. I later discover the ticket and realize I didn’t win the jackpot. Just a thought – is it better to not finding the ticket, therefore not knowing if I have won it (i.e. the chance is still alive), or is it better to find it and then realize I didn’t win it?

Orb Ball

“First in Malaysia” presents Orbing Ball in Titiwangsa (mini-scale of 70meters) and in Gemas (250 meters, largest in Asia).

I participated the mini version in Titiwangsa over the weekend and the experience is unique. It isn’t as scary as anticipated and it doesn’t feel that dizzy after the ride. In view that the ride only cost RM 15 per pax, I do recommend to those who wish to experience something different. For those who demand great thrills such as our Superwoman, please attend the one in Gemas. :)

Skytrek

We completed skytrek – extreme challenge over the weekend. It has been rather tough for me in terms of physically (climbing up stairs of 22 meters) and mentally (balancing and fear of height), and I’m just glad that I am able to complete it without delaying the team. What surprises me is that all girls seem to be able to complete most challenges easier than guys. Are they tougher in terms of mentally or just having the advantage of lighter weight and lower center of gravity?

Twenty-two brave souls

P.S. Among the first eight person to complete the course, seven of them are females. Guess who is the only one guy?

Return Visa

I’m back but I almost didn’t make it. I have lost the landing pass to East Malaysia as I didn’t think it is crucial. I mean, I’m a Malaysian and I’m in Malaysia after all. A friend of mine didn’t even bother to register at the immigration when he arrives East Malaysia – i.e. an illegal immigrants.

As it turns out, he is allowed to leave East Malaysia easily whilst I have to make a police report for my lost landing pass. Time is tight and I almost couldn’t make it. Moral of the story: it is always better to never have it than to have it and then lost it.

Shoes

My shoes don’t usually last more than a year if I wear them regularly amid clumsy walking styles. My favorite shoes - Obermain, awarded shoes of the century by myself, has surprised myself for surviving for more than 3 years, but is in serious deformation condition and should not be able to last the month. I am looking for a replacement shoes and all I can say to the next shoes is that “You have some big shoes to fill”.

Virus II

PC was again infected by virus (28 viruses) and spyware (20 spyware programs). Who in the world is so anxious in wanting to know what’s in my pc? For his information, there’s no Edison-like photo, there’s no millions of dollars in bank account, and there’s no insider tips to the next great share in stock market. There is, however, my Plants vs Zombies game, which my trees of wisdom is up to 120 feet, if that interest him.

Virus

PC was infected by serious virus earlier today and disrupted most of my online activities. Actually the PC was corrupted months or even years ago but I just couldn’t be bother fixing it as it appears to be rather minor. It took me most of the afternoon to seek and install free virus scanner that works. It turns out the pc was infected by 29 viruses. Amazing! All viruses were terminated as of 3:30pm this afternoon. It appears that the month of July is not only bad for people, but also for my pc. Ha ha.

Coins

Finally, I managed to buy some coins that is suppose to immune myself from getting sick (in Feng Sui terms) due to the location of my work station in the office. I got 10 coins from ten Kings in Qing dynasty, not of great value but of great meaning. Talking about sickness, there are more and more people I care about getting sick lately. Take great care, and if necessary, buy some coins and put on your workstation like I do.

Push Up

One of the easiest and cheapest method to gain upper body strength is by doing push up regularly. Upper body strength has always been an area that I seriously lack off. I’m ashamed to admit that even in my prime days, i.e. during Uni days, I wouldn’t be able to do more than twenty push up at one time. I have the intention to rebuild my upper body strength, therefore able to excel in upcoming Skytrek event. However, my first few experience was cut short when I score about ten push-up, and subsequently felt pretty soar the following day. Nonetheless, I shall apply the Secret – I CAN DO IT!

The month of bad Feng Sui

I was notified by Joey Yap early in the year that July is a bad month for those having “Bull” in their Chinese Zodiac (year, month, day and hour). Since I do have a ‘bull’ in one of my Chinese Zodiac, I have to be extra cautious. There are no short of difficult news this month, including my relative and acquaintances attending major surgery. Wish them all the best.

3 Mins Laughing

After attending Book Sharing Seminar numerous times, including three times this year, I think it’s about time for me to share some responsibility and conduct a session for the first time. My turn will be on August 26th so please mark it on your diary.

As usual I want to make it as light and easy as possible, therefore I have chosen a silly book – “3 Minutes A Day Laughing” with a great cover. We should never judge a book by its cover, however, I do admit that the great smile on the cover does attract my attention and decision to purchase it. Once again everybody, its August 26th.

Turtle

Today marks the 4th day of office renovation and it is near completion. I mean, it is a small office of 500 square feet after all. Next is some pointers from a real Feng Sui master and rearranging of furniture. A fake or Feng Sui master wannabe (ie myself) shall place a little but powerful turtle behind my back, the same turtle that has supported me for numerous years. Don’t say I never warn you- Don’t mess around with me, I am backed by a powerful turtle.

Have you heard of a game from popcam known as “Plants versus Zombies”? It is extremely silly, yet very addictive. I guarantee it won’t let you down. I’m up to level 5-7 to date.

Lapis Lazuli

I didn’t manage to buy a blue crystal ring after months of browsing, but instead bought a Lapis Lazuli necklace after seeing it for the very first time. I guess it just looks right, or what we call in Chinese 合眼缘.

The word Lapis is the Latin meaning stone, whilst Lazuli comes from an old Arabic word meaning heaving, sky or simply blue. For people around the world, lapis lazuli is considered a stone of truth, friendship and love; and is reputed to promote harmony in relationships. It is perceived to have healing powers (mentioned for centuries by healers, shamans and medicine men), that can eliminate negative emotions, relieves sore throat pain and even increase psychic abilities. Very interesting myth indeed.

WSET

After weeks of studying my endeavor finally pay off as I scored an 86 or distinction in this level two exam. Pretty impressed with the results, however, I still don’t think I have sufficient knowledge in the topic. Furthermore my memories don’t serve me well as I have already forgotten quite a significant portion of what I have studied less than a month from the exam. Someone once told me the food I should intake to improve my memories; however, I have forgotten what they were. Ha ha.

Sore Arm

I went for a highly recommended Chinese massage to ‘fix’ my painful right arm (that has persist for years) yesterday. It wasn’t a pleasant experience as the pain during the session is rather unbearable. The doctor claims that the pain will be totally removed after just one session. The ache, however, escalate after the session and remains overnight. It was believed that the soreness will remain for at least three days. I guess we’ll know by then whether it is a great healer hidden in the corner of a residential house or another Chinese doctor who claims more than he can produce.

Mission

Paintball Mission: "Saving brother Loong" failed. Mission "Shoot brother Loong" completed. Unfortunately I am in the “saving” team. Bloods are flowing everywhere and clothes are torn (for brother Loong’s case – someone must have read my email and follow the instructions well). It may be a 100% fatality rate, however, ambition remains high and we’ll be back one day (but not in the near term and hopefully with an upgraded equipment).

Awaken

I woke up out of a sudden at 6 in the morning and struggle to sleep again thereafter. It’s something I don’t usually experience as I tend to find it easy to go back to sleeping mode prior to waking hours. I wonder what might have happened. May be something good is awaiting me to discover.

Countdown

Countdown to paint ball war – 4 days. Everything is planned and hopefully all turn out to be well. I desperately need to be more involved in this sort of daily events that could make my days more interesting. In fact, one of my resolutions at the beginning of the year is to participate or organize three of such events, however, this would be my first this year and hopefully there are more to come in no time.

Lucky Vegies

Happy birthday to Brent! In addition to her last year’s birthday present of one lucky vegi (broccoli), she received two lucky vegies this year. Furthermore, she also received a superwoman t-shirt and a bomb. I would like to see if anybody dares to irritate the superwoman now (although I don’t think I would stop doing that). Haha.

Magical bracelet

Alas! Sore! Sore back! Back is quite painful after an outdoor basketball game at 3pm, almost 40 degrees. I haven’t play outdoor basketball game since last September, but that was at around 5pm and 15 degrees (in Australia). Anyway, I wasn’t too concern with the pain as I constantly suffer similar pain and this shouldn’t be serious. Furthermore, I am wearing a ‘magical’ bracelet that consists of titanium, negative ion, magnetic and germanium that can heal and do all sort of magical therapy, almost as good as enabling one to ‘fly’ (or that’s what they claim). So you better watch out.

A magical bracelet that can makes one fly.

Paintball

I am planning to organize a paintball event on the first Sunday of June. I have yet to book the venue but will do so in coming weekend. All my friends will be invited. It will be split into two groups: first group will be name “Kill Brother Loong” and second group will be name “Saving Brother Loong”. I name this because Shyne Loong failed to join us in our previous paintball session several years ago - he over drank the night before and was still vomiting hours before we head to the venue. As such, we shall grant him a delightful experience he would never forget (i.e. everyone aiming him). Details will be available for everyone next week I hope.

Aiming... aiming at brother Loong
Let's all aim at our beloved brother Loong

Basketball

Feeling extremely soar and exhausted after a two hours full court basketball game. Playing at 3pm in the afternoon in this hot & humid weather certainly make it worst. I collide with a player from the opponent team whilst fighting for the rebound in the game and was bounce off the court. Pretty amazing as it used to be me banging people around, but those are obviously things that happen over ten years ago.

Weather

We are experience some scorching hot weather in KL lately. During certain hours of the day it is so warm that I start sweating within minutes from a cold shower. I wonder if the whole world is getting warmer or is the heat wave hitting KL only. Initially I was planning for a paintball session, however, unless the weather soften up, I really have doubts if anyone willing to sit under the sun for hours, waiting to get shot (by me hopefully).

How many showers do you take in such hot & humid weather?

P.S. This is my 100th post in this blog. Who would have believe I would go this far when I started this blog?

Dreams

Its not that common for me to remember my dreams the following morning. When I do I make sure i jot it down somewhere so I can recall it in future. Anyway, this time I'm back to High School again. Its a new semester and I couldn't locate my classroom (the exact experience I have at the age of 13). Thank you KuanNee for helping me locating the new classroom (in my dreams). And thank you Wilson Ho for displaying your leaping skills (jump off from 5th floor to ground floor) and laughing at me for not having the guts to follow you. Thanks for visiting me in my dreams and feel free to drop by again in future.

No Black Tie

No Black Tie - supposing great place for live jazz music, we went there as a group over the weekend for a pricey dinner (cost us around RM 70 per pax) before realizing that there are additional charges of RM 35 per head for listening to the music after 10.30pm. Feeling deceived we all left the premises before listening to any jazz. It’s a shame but all I can say about this is “I’ll be back” (terminator style).

P.S. Can one wears a black tie?

Brandy

I just learn that the most expensive Brandy/Cognac in the world is Henry IV Dudognon Heritage, which is priced at amazing US$ 2 million. Ridiculous? What if I say it is filled with 100cl of hundred years Cognac Grande Champagne? Still overpriced? Now let me further clarify that the bottle is dipped in 24K Yellow Gold & Sterling Platinum and decorated with 6,500 certified brilliant cut diamonds and weighted over 8kg. Does it justify the value of such wine? Well if you have some friends who have an extra bottle and have no place to put it, please get it from them.

I really wouldn't mind including this in my collection

Jogathon

I will be running this Marathon this coming Sunday. This marathon has been a yearly event for nine years and will be my second participation. Let’s hope I can finish the race without fainting half way through. The purpose of the event is to show Chinese cares about their ancestors and Cemetery and opposing the government’s relocation plan. Ironically the yearly winners for most categories have been Indian. Perhaps they are just born to have better physical and stamina (as well as talk faster, shake their head better as they talk and appreciate 'curry' better).

Credit Card

I experience several unpleasant experiences with credit card company lately. First of all, I applied for MayBank American Express credit card amid father’s request weeks ago but they gave me a Visa Credit card instead without notifying me earlier, wasting my petrol and time to claim a card that I never requested. I have informed them to cancel the card, however, am not sure if they have acted on it. Secondly, AmBank Credit Card Computer Telephone system calls me today telling me I haven’t been paying my credit card (sum of RM 5k) since last year. I have to say that I am duly impressed as this is the first time I receive a phone call from a computer system. However, since I never possess an AmBank Credit Card, I have no idea why this ‘high-technology’ system can dial the wrong number. Such a shame.

Have you receive calls from 'high-tech' computer system that made an error?

Dota

Dota

Cute pic of Dota - the computer lan game which have consume our (The dota gang, previously 7 of us and recently decline to 3) time for more than five years. It started way back in year 2004. I have no idea what's so interesting about this game. May be we just "eat too full and have nothing better to do". Haha :)

Note:
First row second from the right - Queen of Pain - previously Sing's special 'hero'.
Second row second from the left - Rikki (S.A.) - my favorite hero in version 5.
Second row second from the right - Razor - Ken's favorite.
Third row second from the right - Maiden - Song's 'wife' in the old days.

Pan Mee

I went to one of my favorite hawker food - Kinkin Chilli Pan Mee in Chow Kit couple of days ago and was very surprised to see the change of staff. The 'fierce' tea-lady was promoted to cashier cum 2nd-chef and the main chef is a lady who I have never seen before. The boss on the other hand was caught wandering around at the back of the premises. The quality of the food dropped significantly as expected. I hope this is just a temporaly staff subsitution rather than a permanent 水鬼升城王.

Awana phobia

Once upon a time (about ten to fifteen years ago) I played golf at Awana, in which I lost more than 10 balls, gave up half way through and told myself not to ever play in this course again. I visited the course again yesterday and experience similar disaster. I tried to give myself all sort of excuses such as bad weather (heavy rain mid way through the game) and wet soggy grass. A better logical explanation is that I have phobia in this course. Score of 107 is the worst this year thus far, however, am confident that I would not repeat similar performance as long as I don’t visit the same stupid course.

Wrong column

Alas! Someone put my photo in the newspaper. I would gladly announce to the world if it’s the news about me saving the world or rated businessman of the year. Unfortunately, it’s the column for the youngster (age 18-25) and I am only about ten years too late for that. Guess I should have informed that to do some touchup on the photo or block the age section haha :P

New PM

Our son of former PM, Najib has taken oath as PM this morning. Being one of the most controversial politician in Malaysia history, Najib was accused to be involve in a murder case. Nonetheless, what’s one murder case compare to killing of thousands (yes Bush, I’m referring to you)? Najib was predicted to be PM more than ten years ago by a Taiwan minister, citing he has the ‘face’ to be one. Isn’t “face reading” a fascinating subject. (P.S. I always wonder how would face reading works on those who has undergo plastic surgery.) So what are you destined to be if you believe in destiny?

Who has a better face reading?

101 @ Bangi

Still haven’t got the chance to play golf in Awana after weeks of planning and instead played in Bangi two days ago and scored a 101, four points lower than my last results three weeks ago. The progress is on track towards my goal of 96. The score is also lower than my dad for the first time, but it’s really due to his poor performances rather than my brilliance. Let’s hope we both can improve and play at top form (with my score slightly lower :P ).

Maxis, Wymax or TM NET?

I experience internet problems lately as the service that I subscribe to, Maxis Broadband, has a bandwith cap of 3 GB per month, which I easily exceeded within the first two weeks of each month. I was told that Wymax broadband has bandwith cap of 5 GB, but they couldn’t be bother calling me after I sign up the ‘request form’. TMNET Streamyx, on the other hand, also not too enthusiastic with my application and has no progress despite being constantly chased by myself for weeks.

I think I have found the cause to Malaysia’s recent poor economy. Big companies just don’t want to earn business even if you beg to give your money away. May be they are trying to shut down some bank accounts to save on the bank admin costs.

Dreams

My best friend once told me that if your hand is under pressure as you sleep (i.e. if someone lie on top of your hand), you’ll definitely have dream. (It also probably implies that if he has dreams, he must be hugging someone in his sleep).

I don’t agree with that a hundred percent but I usually don’t remember my dreams the following morning. Anyway, my dream last night is about going scuba diving and my Oxygen tank isn’t working (which I later realize it is running out of Oxygen after consulting with another friend). It isn’t an issue for me in dreams, as I can always breathe under water as well as having exceptional jumping abilities and skill of flying. I wonder what are the meanings of these dreams.

The bunnies are up to Level 4

I hereby announce that the much anticipated Prison Bunny episode 28 to 30 is finally released. Apparently season three is structured in such a way that the main characters go up each level of the building per episode. The bunnies are now up to 4th floor :)

4th floor

For some reason youtube is extremely slow whilst downloading the three episodes. Maybe everybody is as crazy as I am and download the clip at the same time.

Awaken Baccus

We have an informal wine tasting session last night. There are ten attendees tasting four bottles of wines, two Shiraz from Australia and two French wines (a VdT and a Beaujolais (pronounced as bo-zho-lay). It is absolutely informal as some of us are busy imitating the characters in the TV series “Kami no Shizuku” and techniques mentioned such as ‘switch glass method’, although we have strong doubts that it makes any difference. I wonder why most Malaysian, inclusive myself can never appreciate French wine as much as the Australian wines. Maybe French wines are for the oldies since it’s the so-called old world wines right? So which country wines do you prefer (i.e. are you an oldies?)

Awaken Baccus Baccus

Baccus, also known as Dionysus, god of wine and vegetation, who showed mortals how to cultivate grapevines and make wine.

Golf

In ancient time when someone use a stick to hit the grass and shout to the sky, we call them ‘witch craft’. Today we call them golf.

I went to play golf on course yesterday, the first time in about eighteen months. Results are satisfying at 105, yet need to improve to around 100 to achieve my goal of handicap 24 by year end. Unfortunately the weather in Malaysia is too hot to enjoy the full 18 holes. I remember the days in Melbourne when Francis and myself tee-off at 6pm plus and run through the course to finish nine holes before sun-set. Maybe I should find some early bird to tee-off at 7plus in the morning and finish before noon. Are you an earlybird?

TV Series

I’m currently watching “Kami no Shizuku”, a Japanese TV series about red wines. I do recommend to those wine lovers. You can watch it at http://www.mysoju.com/kami-no-shizuku.

Some of my other all-time favorite TV series include “Entourage” and “24”. There are both very addictive and I strictly warn those who don’t have hours to spend to not commence watching it. It’s addictive and before you realize, a few days of your time has gone.

Retiring

I hereby declare that I am retiring from badminton amid constant muscle pain on the right arm. The pain first surface some three years ago from badminton game but slowly dissapear after I stop. The pain re-emerge when I resume playing badminton about half a year ago. Playing other sports such as basketball or golf, however, do not cause the same muscle pain. It does not need to be genius to know that it was caused by wrong style and usage of muscle whilst playing badminton. Nonetheless, sorry to all my badminton kaki. I will miss you too. As for my badminton fans (if any), I’ll have an autograph ceremony soon to satisfy your need.

Bangsar Pantai Hospital

Bangsar Pantai Hospital doens't care if you get out of the hospital!

Calm down everybody. I'm not referring to the medical operation but the carpark service. The auto-pay station doesn't accept coins or RM50 notes. So what if you don't have small notes? No counter or working personnel care to entertain you with smaller notes. It just seems that Bangsar Pantai Hospital doens't care if you get out of the hospital!

Happy Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day. God bless those who spent double or triple today for the sake of pleasing someone they care about. Good luck to those who know how to utilize their fund by celebrating the event earlier or later. Hope you don’t get the unnecessary annoyance from your other half. Last but not the least, well done to those who are taking advantage of such event. People like you invented such days to gain profit to provide incentives to the world’s economy right?

Who's your date?
What's your plan on Valentine's Day?

Upset Stomach

I have been having upset stomach for a couple of days. It could have been caused by too much food in the Chinese New Year, or more likely the watermelon fruit juice that I had prior to feeling unwell. I believe many people are likely to gain weight amid the festival season, probably caused by too much consumption in “Rou Gan”, “prawn crackers”, “chocolates” and other New Year junk food. I have yet to weight myself but an upset stomach could probably avoid the likelihood of having a diet after the New Year.

Wine

I have found a wine at home labeled Chateau Cadet-Bin 1984 Saint Emilion Grand CRU. Chateau wine is usually the best quality Bordeaux wine and Grand Cru Classe is the highest level of the Bordeaux classification. Being a 1984 wine it could be really valuable. The glitch is, however, base on my preliminary research, the first vintage of the particular wine is in 1988. Therefore, this so call 1984 vintage is pretty misleading. Any idea if this is a fake wine or wrongly labeled?

Traffic

Happy Chinese New Year! We welcome the year of the Ox. The traffic is as smooth as ever in KL amid Chinese New Year. This is the only time in the year you can enjoy such prevelige. I do wonder, however, if it is me or are there more idiotic drivers during this period of time? Maybe these low-b driver only surface when the elites are not around.

Winner of G900 vs E71

The outcome of the competition between E71 and G900 is released.

Each phone received 4 votes from participants but G900 turn out to be the winner amid the following reasons:

1. It is cheaper. RM 1,000 versus RM 1,280.
2. It is smaller in size but has larger screen.
3. It has touch screen.

These factors overcome its weakness of lack of GPS. One other reason that is not stated above is: Out of the four voters above, one of them is myself :) I guess that has some weight in the decision process.

Feng Sui

Attended Joey Yap’s Feng Shui and Astrology for 2009 yesterday. It has been entertaining as expected. In summary, the money sector for 2009 is in the South East corner, nobleman sector is in North West, career sector is in South West and last but not least Peach Blossom sector is in the South. North is the worst sector therefore avoid if possible.

It’s going to be a great year for many, particularly those born in the year/month/days/hours of Monkey, Ox and dog. Those born in the year/month/days/hours of goat and rabbit (such as myself) are less fortunate however :(

rooster

It is said that although rabbit has no lucky star in year 2009, it can borrow the intelligent star from rooster. Any rooster want to lend me your intelligent star?

G900 vs E71

Its about time to change my handphone as I have been using it for more than two and the half years. The buttons are worn out, battery is weakening and applications / softwares are out-dated.

I have such intention some three to four months ago and have considered various phones. The following two Wi-Fi phones are the finalist - Sony Ericsson G900 and Nokia E71.

Some of my friends are strongly recommending E71 whilst others are fans of G900. Current voting results are 3 versus 2.
