Best Photo

We took hundreds of photos in Sydney. This is my personal favourite.

Camera Skill Part 2

Push! Push harder! Hong Yi, you are not pushing hard enough!

Help me grab that bottle of wine please. Looks good!

Camera Skill Part 1

The skill is shooting a shot with multiple people (including kids) jumping in the air is not easy. It requires patient, team effort and definitely the skills of the cameraman, which in this case is myself.

Wow! Look at the height!

New Camera- Canon G7X Mark 2

I bought this camera as own birthday present as well as for the Kun Ming trip as the previous Olympus has retired after 6½ years of hard work. Following are some function worth noticing.

1. Check out the HDR function- (Before and After) particularly impressive when there are little lighting.

2. Selfie function- may be little bit closer as compare to using a selfie stick, but still suitable for certain angle.

3. Remote function- guess who is taking this photo? Myself using handphone.

4. The background defocus effect.

5. Panning effect? I am not professional enough to capture one yet.

There are a lot more function, however, we are just too much of a newbie to try during this trip.

Medal Performance

Hong Yi just received his first ever medal in the Little Gym. His performance in the “performance night” is absolutely brilliant and way beyond our expectations. It seems like he is really aware of this “performance night” and has been, as a matter of fact, practicing the few nights before the big day. Actually now that I think of it, almost all children have an above-par or on-par performance. All the three years old kids seems to be aware and fully prepared for the big day. Don’t ever underestimate the power of a 3-year-old kid.

Check out my monkey swing. My balancing rocks. Now that's my first ever medal in my life. Plenty more to come. I vow to beat my mummy one day.

Halloween Party

Hong Yi's first Halloween Party at the Little Gym. We dress as a skeleton man, Japanese school Girl, Doremon and Strawberry Girl. There are a lot more scary monsters dresses than cute outfit. Guess what happen if you mix them both. (Look at that really scary girl in the next photo)

Portrait Mode

Using the portrait mode in one of the camera’s function, we can smoothen one’s face to look like supermodel. The following two photos clearly indicate the before and after. Nonetheless, baby is super cute in either photo :)

Aperture and Focus

With the purchase of my new camera, I am gaining some basic knowledge in camera shooting. The following two photos are my rookie shots, same angle but different focal point using the function of aperture and focus. Interesting.

Photo Frame

I have been playing with some old photos with funky frames thanks to some free of charge software in Iphone. I have a very unique feeling whilst looking at these photos. They are new and refreshing, yet very familiar. Its some what similar feeling to meeting up with old friends whom you haven’t seen for a very long time. Refreshing and different, yet very familiar. The key question is, “are they still the same?” Yes and no.

Photo

One of the nicer photos taken in Hokkaido, Japan. The wide screen was captured by my father who seems to really like to ‘sweep’ the camera for such effect. As much as I felt it’s silly whilst taking the photo, it turns out to be fantastic and lot more interesting than the traditional photo. I am not going to tell you which camera my father used because I want to reserve the chance for him to show off his camera live.
