Bye Bye Lai Meng

This is the end for my Primary school Lai Meng, which will be dismantle next year and rebuild at a different location. There are so many memorable moment in the school. Top ten memorable moments/location are:

10. The basketball court- my first ever basketball experience.

9. The kindergarten playground

8. The canteen - somehow remember it to be bigger.

7. The netball hoop and ping pong table

6. The roof on top of the path – For six years I wish I can run on top of them.

5. Staircase - This particular staircase is where I was stationed as Prefect.

4. Chess corner – This corner is where I sit and play Chinese Chess with friends.

3. The Long Kang – My fell here in standard five not only cost me the chance to March in Merdeka day, but also gave me a 4 inch scar that still exist today.

2. The ‘dream toilet’ – A weird design toilet always mysteriously appear in my dream for many years. (Two toilets next to each other). The most interesting thing is I forgot all about this toilet until my recent visit. Apparently one is for primary students and the other is for kindergarten kids.

1. The classroom - THIS IS THE PLACE !!! This is where I was being PUNISHED to STAND OUTSIDE the classroom for the first time in my life.. I was only Kindergarten at the time. What did I do wrong by the way? Really would like to ask the teacher. It should be the year 1981. Who was the teacher at the time?

Run

Completed the 10km run (Standard Chartered), however, not quite within my objective of 75mins. I finished it in 76 minutes plus which is really-close-very-far. This gives me motivation to surpass that in coming run.

Hong Yi turning two

Time flies. Hong Yi is now two years old. A year ago, he could barely walk on his first birthday and now he talks nonstop (although we may not understand what he is trying to say half the time). I have the feeling he knows that it is his birthday and he is really enjoying the few day’s activities we plan for him.

Basketball Competition

Who would have imagined that my very first basketball competition medal comes at the age of 38 (two months shy of it to be exact). Champion! This is way beyond our initial target of final 4. My shots aren’t all falling, legs are slow, body is weak, back is painful but hey, our competition face similar problems cause this is a competition for uncles. Ha ha.

These are some of HY's favorite toys to date:

1, Reddish Twins - still his favorite soft toys

2, Swords - between 13 - 18 months old

3, Bowling - between 18 - 21 months old

4, Fishing - about 20 months old

5, Bus - 21 months old - current

All seems to make perfect sense, except maybe the bus. I wonder how long would it last.

Back to Perth

Further to my last visit, which is about a year ago, I am heading back to Perth tonight. There are still many area of the city that is worth exploring for me despite spending almost seven years of my life there. Weird isn’t it.

I believe the same principle applies to the very city that I reside now. There must be plenty more places to explore which I just simply didn’t do it. I guess I must be thinking that It’s just around the corner and it will never go away. Well, it will never go away, but I will never go there either, not unless I change my state of mind.

New Phone

After months of struggling with an aging mobile phone (more than 3 years old, which is a dinosaur in today’s phone market), I finally got myself a new mobile phone – Samsung S3 Mini. I wouldn’t call it an advance high tech phone, but is more than sufficient for my usage.

The phone is selected based on size and price as I know little about Samsung and Android phone. This will be my very first Android phone. The other two popular phones that I did not select are Samsung S3 – also known as very big phone and Samsung Notes 2 – also known as freaking big phone. Phones are just getting bigger and bigger nowadays.

Lobsterman versus Lobster 面

We have a delicious value for money lobster meal yesterday. The funny thing is for hours after Sacha suggested the location for dinner, I was under the impression that we are going for a Chinese Lobster Noodle (Lobster 面) as opposed to a western restaurant with the name of The Lobsterman.

Food is good, lobster is big and it’s the first time I get to eat the whole lobster with the king size claws. In fact, we rarely get to see a lobster with the claws after cook. The right claw is particularly bigger than the left. I bet she must be a right hander :)

2013 Wine Tasting (1)

The first wine tasting for the year 2013 is interesting as the following wines (plus some entry level wines) were consumed in the evening.

From marketing point of view, the De Martino Chardonnay appears to be most attractive among consumers; whilst from the analytical point of view, the Mauro 2009 appears to be the best in terms of quality. A 90 pointer I would give, the same as most experts rater. Great mind thinks alike right?

P.S. Pricing structure are (from left) Luberri Seis RM 78, De Martino SV C/S RM 110, Finca Cardaba RM 95, Aromo RM 85, Mauro RM 180, De Martino Chardonnay RM 90.
